The Lethbridge Public Library is proud to join communities across the country in a national celebration of literacy, storytelling, and the literary arts, by bringing The Word On The Street Festival to Lethbridge for the 5th year in a row.
The Word On The Street Festival is growing into a signature event in Southern Alberta, where we present established and emerging authors, storytellers, informative panel discussions, demonstrations and workshops, live music, tons of activities and a bustling marketplace. We strive to create a FREE local festival that represents the diversity of our community, is accessible to all ages, and most importantly is well attended, lively, and fun.
We hope everyone who came out to enjoy the festival, sunshine, and big winds had as much fun as we did! Special thanks to our volunteers and library staff, all of our authors and performers, our exhibitors and partner organizations, and many sponsors. Take a moment to fill out our online survey, and enter to win prizes!
Come out this year to meet Kelley Armstrong, Maureen Jennings, Her Excellency Sharon Johnston, Mary-Ann Kirkby, Kim Thuy, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee and many more! There will be a Kids Corner stage, sponsored by Astro Insurance and Registry, filled with a line-up of amazing children’s authors, a Teen Zone stage programmed to cater to young adults with a variety of interests, and the Canadian Heritage stage and Lethbridge Herald stages with authors for adults. And don’t forget to visit our Flaman Workshop and Reading Tent for the Business of Self-Publishing, Cartooning for all Ages and the Crime Writers of Canada.
