Whether you’re part of an organization or just a good old-fashioned book lover, there have always been opportunities to get involved with The Word On The Street. Read below for the best ways to be a part of the biggest book and magazine festival in Canada.
As Canada’s largest book and magazine event, The Word On The Street provides you with the opportunity to connect with thousands of avid readers through our Exhibitor Marketplace.
As an exhibitor at The Word On The Street, you will take part in a growing signature event for southern Alberta. As the only festival of its kind in the region, the overall mission for the The Word On The Street is multi-faceted; to connect literary arts and literacy to our community, to build bridges across cultures with performances and displays from writers, theatre groups, and storytellers, and to ensure that Word On The Street is a festival that represents the diversity of our community and is accessible to everyone.
Most importantly, we strive to create a festival that is lively, well attended (an estimated 4,000-5,000 visitors annually) and fun for the entire family. Whether your goal is to create awareness of your business, solicit donations, or sell merchandise, food or beverages, the Word On The Street offers a fun and friendly environment for you to meet a diverse audience looking for a new experience.

Exhibitor Frequently Asked Questions
What opportunities are there for authors and publishers?
All authors and publishers are welcome to join our exhibitor marketplace. Our line-up of presenting authors is organized by a Library staff committee, and we are not taking submissions from publishers at this time. We offer individual authors a special low rate of $50 for the early bird up to July 14th, and $75 as of July 15th.
I am registered as a publisher and I am bringing some of my authors. Can I list them on the author page on this website?
The author page on this website is solely for those who are presenting on one of the stages or who are doing a workshop or other event. All exhibitors will be listed on the Marketplace page.
What is included in a Marketplace tent space?
A single Marketplace tent space consists one wall section of a 20 foot square white tent. This space includes one 30” wide x 6’ long table and two chairs. A shared Marketplace tent space for individual authors consists of half of a 30” wide x 6’ long table (shared by two authors) and one chair each inside a Marketplace Tent.
Will I get a table, chairs and a tent in an outside exhibitor space?
No. An outside space only includes a physical space, roughly 10’ x 10’, on either the street or in the library parking lot to use as a base for your own mobile cart, tent or table. Please be sure to read the tent weight requirements in the exhibitor package.
Will food and beverage vendors have their own area?
Yes. Food and beverage vendors will have their own area out on the street surrounding the tables and chairs that will be set out for the “food court” area.
How can I pay for my exhibitor registration?
All payments for the Marketplace can be made by debit, credit card or cheque (payable to Lethbridge Public Library) by:
Cancellations
In the event of exhibitor cancellation prior to August 30th, 2024, registration fees will be refunded, minus 15%. *There will be no refunds after this date
Will there be tables, chairs, tents or tent weights to rent for the festival?
We will not be renting out chairs, tables, or tents for the festival. All of these items need to be booked in advance with the purchase of your space. If you book an “outdoor space” and bring your own tent you must weigh it down properly. There are weights for rent from the Library in advance that you can order through your exhibitor registration form.
