Mary Chevreau, CEO, Kitchener Public Library

20170404I’ve recently finished Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel, the One Book One Community 2015 winner!

Station Eleven is a tale of survival, friendship and love after a pandemic changes the world as we all know it. Ms. St. John Mandel deftly moves between before and after the pandemic, weaving the life stories and connections of the principal characters. While bleak and heart-wrenching at times, the ultimate message of the book is one of hope and goodness for humanity; I couldn’t put it down! I am very much looking forward to hearing Ms. St. John Mandel’s interview with Edwin Outwater, Music Director for the KW Symphony, at the Central Library on Sept. 23rd!
