Martha Lenio, NASA Mars Simulation Mission’s commander and the first woman to lead a Mars simulation

September 9, 2015

What I was reading in The Dome:

the-martian-by-andy-weir-673x1024The Martian” by Andy Weir

I felt I had to, as the movie’s coming out soon and everyone was asking what I thought of it. It was a fun read, and the technical details were extremely well researched. I’m very much looking forward to the movie to see how Hollywood interprets it.

57936Seven Pillars of Wisdom” by T. E. Lawrence

Wonderful book about the Arab Uprising in the First World War and Lawrence’s experience with it. Some places sounded simply stunning and amazing, like Rumm and Petra, and I would love to see it first hand. Other experiences sounded horrific. The volcanic, desert landscape came across as very Mars-like, and his musings on leadership by a person not trained to lead, and who had little inclination to do it, were also very interesting.
