The Word On The Street Toronto, Canada’s largest book and magazine festival is a non-profit organization that features 100% Canadian talent and draws over 225,000 to its annual event. This year’s festival takes place at Harbourfront Centre on Sunday, September 27th, and there are great ways to get involved, support The Word On The Street, and enhance your festival experience! Reserve Author Cruise tickets in advance of festival day, Friend an Author, and take home your own special festival merchandise on September 27th.
With the lake as a new neighbour, visitors can join a bestselling lineup of authors for four 60-minute Author Cruises on the beautiful Tall Ship Kajama. Enjoy readings and discussion with Terry Fallis, Susanna Kearsley, Sally Christie, D.J. McIntosh, Andrew Pyper, Alexandra Grigorescu, James Grainger, David Nickle, Sara Taylor, and Lynn Crosbie. Cruises board at 11:45AM, 1:15PM, 2:45PM, and 4:15PM.
For tickets head to an Information Booth at the festival, or purchase tickets in advance online. Tickets are $25 for adults, and $10 for children. All ticket revenue supports author programming at The Word On The Street.
Back by popular demand! For a $100 donation, Friend an Author to receive a copy of their latest book, have it signed, and be recognized publicly on stage and in The Word On The Street’s 2016 Festival Program. Participating authors include Patrick deWitt, Kelley Armstrong, Kenneth Oppel, Dennis Lee, Susanna Kearsley, Austin Clarke, Barbara Reid, Giles Blunt, Lynn Crosbie, Ken McGoogan, Neil Pasricha, and many more! Visit The Word On The Street’s Information Booths at Harbourfront Centre to find a selection of special festival merchandise. This year’s collection features organic cotton tote-bags, glass water bottles, coffee mugs, buttons, and more. Be sure to get your own 2015 The Word On The Street t-shirt, featuring illustrations from this year’s festival poster by Vincent Gagnon (Vigg). All merchandise sales support the production of The Word On The Street. Visitors are also welcome to make donations on festival day at any Information Booth or programming stage.
