With only 10 days left until our 28th festival, we are thrilled to announce the winners of our inaugural Writing DiverCity Contest, a competition for writers under 35 aimed at highlighting the diversity and vibrancy of emerging Canadian talent, awarding a total of $2,500.
Congratulations to all the winners! Judges Phoebe Wang, Elyse Friedman, and Ian Williams chose the winning stories over the summer from a large selection of submissions and were amazed at the talent coming forward.
In the lead up to the festival we will be publishing all of the winning stories on our blog, starting tomorrow with Aaron Kreuter’s third place winning story, “Fences.” With each story, we’ll be including a short interview with the author to really get a behind the scenes look.
Also, be sure to see the special showcase of the contest with all three authors reading portions of their winning stories.
