Man in the Shadows book cover

The Word On The Street’s Book Club discussion of Man in the Shadows continues! Check out part one and part two of the conversation.

This week, book club leader Lila has a few questions based on Chapters 10 – 20. Feel free to use these as a jumping-off point for any other thoughts or questions you may have too.

  1. The man in the shadows dubs himself “Marshall” when he is with Whelan. What do you think is the significance of this name, if any?
  1. When the man in the shadows kills McGee, we find out that he had a grudge against McGee, the hero of his youth. Does this personal insight about the assassin make him sympathetic at all?
  2. How do you think McGee’s death will impact the other characters: Conor? Thomas? Macdonald?
