Event Name: Tributes and Tributaries Book Launch
Location: Gladstone Hotel
What Is It: Tributes and Tributaries is a catalogue of the artworks, films, videos and performances that were presented at the Gallery’s exhibition from September 29, 2016 to May 22, 2017. This unveiling party celebrates the artists, writers and community who made the creation of this publication possible. Light snacks, a cash bar, entertainment will be available and copies of the catalogue will be available for purchase.
Accessibility: The Gladstone has a wheelchair accessible ramp leading into the Queen Street-level Melody Bar and gender neutral washrooms. Service animals are also welcome.

Event Name: Writing While Black: Playwriting 101
Location: Cahoots Theatre
What Is It: Playwright, actor, and facilitator Alicia Richardson guides us through a beginner’s playwriting workshop. With a focus on writing compelling dialogue, this event encourages Black writers who want to create stories for the stage. Attendees will be generating new material on the day, no advance writing or previous playwriting experience necessary. Be prepared to read your work and the work of your peers aloud!
