This year, TD KidStreet, sponsored by TD Bank Group will feature a fantastic blend of children\u2019s author programming and family-friendly activities including <strong>TVOKids LIVE!<\/strong>, the <strong>TD Children\u2019s Literature Tent<\/strong>, the <strong>Children\u2019s Activity Tent <\/strong>in Purina PawsWay, and the <strong>TD Interactive Storybook<\/strong>. Visit TD KidStreet at the festival\u2019s new <strong>Harbourfront Centre<\/strong> location Sunday, September 27th.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re excited to share a love of reading with readers of all ages,&#8221; said Alan Convery, Director, Community Relations, TD. &#8220;TD is committed to promoting children&#8217;s literacy \u2013 and this festival helps inspire children and families to get excited and discover the fun in reading.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Venues and attractions at TD KidStreet:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t miss a fun-filled day at <strong>TVOKids LIVE!<\/strong> Kids and families can enjoy a full day of performances, making time for a rhyme with Gis\u00e8le and Polkaroo and singing and dancing with <em>The Reading Rangers<\/em>. Families can enjoy musical guests including <em>newchoir<\/em> and <em>The Samba Squad<\/em>, hang out with kindergarten superstar Opie from <em>Hi Opie! (<\/em>marblemedia), join the robot nation with the stars of <em>Annedroids (<\/em>Sinking Ship Entertainment),\u00a0get in on the math mayhem with the cast and creator of <em>Odd Squad (<\/em>Sinking Ship Entertainment) and check out a cool experiment with the host of new TVOKids series <em>Science Max (<\/em>Breakthrough Entertainment).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The TD Children\u2019s Literature Tent will feature much-loved authors <strong>Dennis Lee<\/strong>, <strong>Barbara Reid<\/strong>, <strong>Kyo Maclear<\/strong>, <strong>Andrew Larsen<\/strong>, <strong>Nicola Winstanley <\/strong>and more! <strong>CBC <\/strong>will present the shortlist for the <strong>2015 TD Canadian Children\u2019s Literature Award<\/strong>, and readings from the nominated books. Middle-grade fiction highlights include <strong>Kevin Sylvester<\/strong>,<strong> Frieda Wishinsky<\/strong> and <strong>Kevin Sands<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receive a free copy of<em>\u00a0Mr. Zinger\u2019s Hat<\/em> by author<strong> Cary Fagan<\/strong>. This book is this year\u2019s <strong>TD Grade One Book Giveaway<\/strong> which will be given to every Canadian grade one student this fall and which is presented by the Canadian Children\u2019s Book Centre at this year\u2019s festival.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sharpen your pencils and head to the <strong>Children\u2019s Activity Tent<\/strong> in Purina PawsWay for cartooning with <strong>Evan Munday<\/strong>, and a lesson on storytelling and illustrating with <strong>JonArno Lawson<\/strong> and<strong> Sydney Smith<\/strong>. Imagine the places you could travel with <strong>Kellen Hatanka<\/strong>, author of <em>Drive<\/em>. Join <strong>Etta Kaner<\/strong> to learn about wild animals, and explore the zoo in your own backyard with <strong>Nancy Rose<\/strong> and<em> The Secret Life of Squirrels<\/em>.\u00a0 Create a dinosaur collage with <strong>Stacey Rodrick<\/strong>, and craft your own fun shape characters with <strong>Tania Howells<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Other exciting activities happening around TD KidStreet this year include the <strong>TD Interactive Storybook<\/strong>, where attendees can get their picture taken for free inside a giant,<strong> 12-foot storybook<\/strong>.
