This stage hosts great Canadian young adult books, authors, and artists, and features genre-based interactive programming sessions. This year, we\u2019re once again sharing the mic during the <strong>Youth Spoken Word Showcase!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Presented in partnership with\u00a0the award winning <a href=\"http:\/\/torontopoetryslam.com\/bam-youth-slam\">BAM! Toronto Youth Poetry Slam<\/a>\u00a0team and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poetryinvoice.com\/\">Poetry in Voice<\/a>, <strong>up to 8 teen poets ages 12 to 19 are invited to submit an original spoken word poem to the festival.\u00a0<\/strong>Poets have three minutes to recite their poems to an audience of<br \/>\nover 50 people, with Q &amp; A to follow.<\/p>\n<p>This is your chance to be a featured poet at Canada\u2019s biggest book and magazine festival!<\/p>\n<p>Spoken word poetry can be used as an instrument through which you can explore and better understand your culture, society, and YOU. We encourage youth to use one of your most powerful tools, your voice, to share stories and create change.<\/p>\n<p>Not sure what to write about?
