This year, <strong>TD KidStreet<\/strong>, sponsored by TD Bank Group will feature a fantastic blend of children\u2019s author programming and family-friendly activities including the <strong>TVOKids Stage<\/strong>, the <strong>TD Children\u2019s Literature Tent<\/strong>, the <strong>Children\u2019s Activity Tent<\/strong> and the <strong>TD Interactive Storybook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Venues and attractions at TD Kidstreet include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Live at the TVOKids Stage, kids can help Ranger Kara welcome some new <strong>Reading Ranger<\/strong> recruits, meet some of the stars and creators from TVOKids\u2019 new show <em><strong>Annedroids<\/strong><\/em>, join in the fun and games in <strong>Gis\u00e8le\u2019s Big Backyard<\/strong>, and see special musical guests<strong> The Samba Squad<\/strong>,<strong> Arianna Gillis<\/strong> and <strong>AnimalKyngdom<\/strong>, as well as award-winning puppeteer<strong> Ali Eisner<\/strong>. Families can stop by the Reading Rangers tents, inspired by town of Docville, for fun activities and the chance to win great prizes. Don\u2019t forget to keep an eye out for <strong>Polkaroo<\/strong>!<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>TD Children\u2019s Literature Tent<\/strong> will feature much-loved authors <strong>Frances Itani<\/strong>, <strong>Kenneth Oppel<\/strong>,<strong> Helaine Becker<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0Michael Redhill<\/strong>\u00a0and more!<strong> CBC<\/strong> will present the shortlist for the<strong> 2014 TD Canadian Children\u2019s Literature Award<\/strong>, and readings from the nominated books. Middle-grade fiction highlights include <strong>Lesley Livingston<\/strong>,<strong> Richard\u00a0Scrimger<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Claudia D\u00e1vila<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Receive a free copy of <em>Doors in the Air<\/em> by author <strong>David Weale<\/strong> and illustrator <strong>Pierre Pratt<\/strong>. Their book is this year\u2019s <strong>TD Grade One Book Giveaway<\/strong> which will be given to every Canadian grade one student this fall and which is presented by the Canadian Children\u2019s Book Centre at this year\u2019s festival.<\/li>\n<li>Sharpen your pencils and head to the <strong>Children\u2019s Activity Tent<\/strong> for drawing with <strong>Cary Fagan<\/strong>, and a lesson on \u201cHow to Create a Character,\u201d with <strong>Brian McLachlan<\/strong> and <strong><em>OWL Magazine<\/em> editor Kim Cooper<\/strong>. Join <strong>Rachelle Delaney<\/strong>\u00a0to learn dog tricks (furry friends are encouraged to attend!). Get ready for warm-up exercises with Olympic gymnast <strong>Jessica Tudos<\/strong>. <strong>Joel Sutherland<\/strong>\u00a0leads a spooktacular ghosthunting lesson and interactive campfire story. The guide is designed and produced by <strong>Owlkids<\/strong>, publisher of <em>Chirp, ChickaDEE<\/em> and <em>OWL Magazine<\/em>.
