Sculpting New Reads<\/i><\/a>, The Word On The Street\u2019s annual contemporary art exhibition, calls upon visual artists to bring to life the art of storytelling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For our third edition, we challenged four local artists to create new sculptures inspired by four Canadian new releases.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Featured books included: Olive Senior’s Pain Tree<\/i><\/a>, a stunning collection of short stories set in Jamaica; Job Shadowing<\/i><\/a>, a debut novel by Malcolm Sutton that explores our 20th-century desires torn asunder by the new millennium; Guy Gavriel Kay’s newest epic Renaissance fantasy Children of Earth and Sky<\/i><\/a>; and Mona Awad’s award-winning debut novel 13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl<\/i><\/a>, an intimate, shocking and humorous story of struggle and transformation.<\/span><\/p>\n
