These improvements will enable the festival to reach beyond the 225,000 people who annually attend The Word On The Street Toronto’s free celebration of literacy and the written word.

The website’s refreshed look and mobile-responsive design makes visiting it a more accessible experience for audiences who come to plan their festival day. Improved online forms make it easier than ever for volunteers and publishers to get involved with The Word On The Street, and the ability to livestream events and host multimedia content will expand the festival’s audience year-round. Promotional areas and social media integration throughout the website encourages visitors to explore the festival’s special programs and events, while highlighting Canadian authors, publishers, and literacy organizations.

It’s our hope that increasing the content, range, and functionality of The Word On The Street’s website will support the needs of the festival’s community networks of publishers, authors, readers, librarians, teachers, and more. As well, it will give us the opportunity to create more community connections and partnerships

The redesign was undertaken by ecentricarts, a Toronto-based web agency with vast experience in the arts and cultural sector.
