This stage hosts great Canadian young adult books, authors, and artists, and features genre-based interactive programming sessions. New this year, we\u2019re sharing the mic during the <strong>Youth Spoken Word Showcase!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Joined by the award winning <a href=\"http:\/\/torontopoetryslam.com\/bam-youth-slam\">BAM! Toronto Youth Poetry Slam<\/a> team and <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"font-weight: inherit;\" href=\"http:\/\/poets.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">The League of Canadian Poets<\/a><\/span>, <strong>up to 8 teen poets ages 12 to 19 will be invited to perform an original spoken word poem<\/strong> at the festival. This is your chance to be a a featured performer at Canada\u2019s biggest book and magazine festival!<\/p>\n<p>Spoken word poetry can be used as an instrument through which you can explore and better understand your culture, society, and YOU. We encourage youth to use one of your most powerful tools, your voice, to share stories and create change.<\/p>\n<p>Not sure what to write about?
